U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UNANIMOUSLY ENDORSES RESOLUTION ON CROATIA'S JOINING WTO AND PARTNERSHIP FOR PEACE

WASHINGTON, May 16 - The House of Representatives of the United State Congress yesterday, unanimously endorsed a resolution  H.Con.Res.251, which expressed a support to Croatia's joining the Partnership for Peace Program (PfP) and the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The motion was initiated by Republican representative from California George Radanovich.

Several congressmen of both parties participated in the discussion,  all of them expressing full endorsement for the motion. The resolution read that the United States advocated the promotion of Croatian-American economic, political and military connections, and consider Croatia a loyal partner in southeastern Europe .In addition, it was stated that the United States Government should help the accelerate their efforts in the return of refugees, the overall privatization, media reforms and the continuation of cooperation between Croatia and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).

The United States Senate should soon vote its opinion on the resolution.
