AMBASSADOR GRDESIC CONGRATULATED THE NEWLY APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ZAGREB

 

 

Washington, DC, March 13, 2002- Croatian Ambassador to the U.S., Dr. Ivan Grdesic congratulated Dr. Jasna Helena Mencer on her recent appointment as the President of the University of Zagreb. 59-year-old Dr. Mencer has been vice-president of the University of Zagreb for science and a professor at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering before her appointment as President of Zagreb University. She is the first woman president in the history of the University of Zagreb.

In his letter of congratulation, Ambassador Grdesic said “As the Ambassador of Croatia to the United States allow me to offer you my services and the services of the Embassy in the development and improvement of the educational and scientific cooperation with the United States.”

Prior to assuming his ambassadorial duties. Dr. Grdesic was professor and dean of the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Zagreb.
