Croatian Prime Minister Receives Honorary Degree from Philadelphia University

Philadelphia, PA, September 20 – Croatian Prime Minister Dr. Ivo Sanader received an honorary degree in jurisprudence from Philadelphia University on Monday. President of the University, James Gallagher, said that this award – the highest academic award of Philadelphia University – is presented to state leaders for building peaceful coexistence and for supporting good education in the 21st century.

Mr. Gallagher said at the award presentation ceremony that the honorary degree was presented to Dr. Sanader as a recognition of his contribution to Croatia’s development and strengthening of relations between Croatia and the United States. 

During his acceptance speech, Prime Minister Sanader said that the honorary degree is a recognition of his Government’s leadership on the path of democracy, rule of law, respect for human and minority rights and the market economy. Prime Minister Sanader noted that the presentation of the honorary degree is a great honor for him and to all who stood behind his policies, adding that this in itself proves that the Croatian Government is on the right path.
