MESIC RECEIVES EINAUDI TEN YEARS AFTER CROATIA'S RECOGNITION

HINA, Zagreb, January 14 - President Stjepan Mesic received the dean of the diplomatic corps and apostolic nuncio monsignor Giulio Einaudi on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Croatia's international recognition. According to a statement issued today, Mesic thanked Einaudi and commended him for his duty as dean during his long-term office in Croatia. During talks, Mesic asked his guest to forward gratitude to the Holy See for efforts in presenting evaluations of and the situation in Croatia in the period when this was most needed. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the established dialogue between Croatian Bishops' Conference and Croatian government authorities.
