Croatian Ambassador to U.S. Ivan Grdesic Expressed Condolences at Macedonian Embassy
Washington DC, February 27 - Croatian Ambassador to U.S. Dr Ivan Grdesic expressed the Government’s and his own deep condolences to the Government and the citizens of Macedonia today at Macedonian Embassy in Washington DC, after the tragic death of Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski.
It is with great sadness that we learned about the tragic death of President Boris Trajkovski and his advisors. He was not only important to Macedonia, leading her toward prosperity, but was respected as a distinguished statesman in the international community.
His personal contribution to the development of cordial relationship between Croatia and Macedonia will guide us all further, as he left the mark on the very important period in the history of our nations.
In this difficult times for the people of Macedonia, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, please accept out sincere condolences, says the text the Croatian Ambassador has written in the book of condolences, opened at the Macedonian Embassy.
After signing in the book of condolences, Ambassador Grdesic met with Macedonian Ambassador to U.S. Nikola Dimitrov.
Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski died in a plane crash in southern Bosnia on Thursday, February 26. Trajkovski was flying to Mostar, Bosnia, for an investment conference where he was supposed to meet with Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and other regional leaders.
