PREMIER RACAN
ON THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF CROATIA'S INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION
HINA, Zagreb, January 14 - Premier Ivica Racan
assessed the 10th anniversary of Croatia's international recognition
is a great anniversary for Croatian citizens and the Croatian people. Ten years
of international recognition and independence is a big issue, Racan told the
Croatian radio, and announced he would, on the government's behalf, forward a
thank you note to countries which acknowledged Croatia's independence ten years
ago. The tenth anniversary of Croatia's international recognition will be
marked on January 15, when 12 EU countries acknowledged Croatia as an
independent state ten years ago. We gained Croatia, won the Homeland War with
numerous sacrifices by those who actively participated in the country's
defense, as well as by the common people of this country, Racan said, and added
this unity was also important today as it is necessary for the struggle for
development.
