Croatian Minister of Defense to visit Afghanistan
Zagreb,
March 31 - Croatian Minister of Defense Berislav Roncevic will travel to
Afghanistan next week to visit Croatian troops serving in the International
Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF) mission.
During the visit, which will last several days, Minister Roncevic will also meet the ISAF commander, General Rick Hilliar, senior NATO representative Hikmet Cetin, and Afghan Minister of Defense Qasem Fahim Khan.
On February 28, Croatian military police of the second contingent taking part in NATO’s international peace operation in Afghanistan (ISAF) returned to Zagreb after 6 months in Kabul. The third Croatian contingent departed Zagreb for Kabul the day before.
Croatian soldiers have previously participated in international military missions, as UN observers in Sierra Leone and Kashmir, Ethiopia, Eritrea and West Sahara.
