Croatian Prime Minister awarded by U.S. honorary doctorate
ZAGREB, April 13, 2004 - The University of Philadelphia has awarded an honorary doctorate to Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, the government's public relations office said in a statement.
Philadelphia University president James P. Gallagher said in a letter the degree was awarded in recognition of Prime Minister Sanader's cultural work and leadership of the Croatian government and as confirmation of the good historical, social, cultural and political relations between the two countries. Croatian Prime Minister will receive the doctorate during his next visit to the United States.
