In
March 2001 Croatia concluded a Stand-by Arrangement with the IMF, with the Special Drawing
Rights (SDR). This agreement was welcomed by the international capital markets
and the international credit rating agencies.
Croatian Government will work
with the World Bank in the context of a structural Adjustment Loan (SAL). A
strong branch office has been established due to the excellent relationship
between Croatia under its new government and the World Bank and is further strengthened by founding of a regional three-state
hub office in
Zagreb operating for the countries of Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia. The
recommendation is to increase the World Bank credit program in the next years.
The
Export-Import Bank of the United States held a conference on October 29, 2001
in Dubrovnik, where new attractive opportunities were given for trade and
investment in Croatia.
